No one hit Monday’s $804 million Powerball jackpot. Nobody did. But somewhere in Delaware, one ticket holder has a $1 million prize for matching all five white numbers.
The Delaware Lottery confirmed that a ticket sold in the state matched the full white-ball combination drawn Monday — 7, 23, 29, 64, and 66 — locking in the game’s second-tier prize of $1 million. The jackpot itself rolled over, untouched, while the million-dollar ticket quietly changed someone’s life.
That contrast — an $804 million dream left on the table while a $1 million reality landed in one Delawarean’s hands — captures something about how lottery fortunes actually unfold. The headline number dominates, but the real winners are usually standing much closer to the ground.
A Windfall Year for the First State
This is not Delaware’s first brush with big lottery money in 2026. According to WDEL, Monday’s $1 million prize marks the third major jackpot of the year for the state. In April, a ticket sold at the Acme supermarket in Middletown matched the numbers behind a $231 million jackpot. And on January 7, a $2 million prize was sold at Boyds Corners Liquors.
The $2 Million Ticket Still Waiting
Not every Delaware winner has stepped forward. The $2 million prize sold at Boyds Corners Liquors on January 7 has yet to be claimed, and under Delaware law that ticket holder has until January 7, 2027 to collect.

Lottery officials have not yet announced where Monday’s $1 million ticket was sold, in part because the lottery office was closed Tuesday for Delaware’s Election Day holiday. The location — and the identity of the winner, if they choose to come forward publicly — remains the open question hanging over the story.
For now, the numbers tell the tale: $804 million unclaimed, $1 million won, and a second fortune still sitting somewhere in the state with a January 2027 expiration date.
