JBL Launches JBL Cove Whole-Home Audio System With Three Wireless Speakers

JBL has introduced the JBL Cove, a new whole-home Wi-Fi audio system designed to provide multi-room music listening through three distinct wireless models according to Morningstar. The lineup consists of the JBL Cove M1, JBL Cove P1, and JBL Cove X1, which can operate individually, as stereo pairs, or combined into a connected network managed via the JBL One mobile application.

Modular Speaker Models and Features

The hardware range is divided into three separate tiers to suit different spaces and listening preferences:

* JBL Cove M1: A compact unit designed for everyday listening on bookshelves, counters, and smaller secondary rooms, priced at $229.95. * JBL Cove P1: A portable home Wi-Fi speaker featuring a handle on the back, an IP56 weather-resistance rating for splash and dust protection, a charging dock, a USB-C port, up to 14 hours of battery life on a single charge, and spatial audio playback via Dolby Atmos. It retails for $399.95. * JBL Cove X1: The flagship stationary unit featuring four tweeters and dual woofers designed for powerful room-filling audio with Dolby Atmos support, priced at $449.95.

All three speakers are available in black and white finishes. Across the entire series, the platform incorporates technologies such as Constant Sound Field acoustic tuning, automatic room self-tuning, and AI Sound Boost processing to suppress driver distortion at high volumes according to Techaeris.

Setup, Streaming, and Smart Control

The system features a three-step setup process that takes approximately three to five minutes Mashable. Users can create groups through the JBL One app to play music across multiple rooms without needing to constantly regroup or reset speakers.

The speakers support High-Resolution audio over Wi-Fi alongside standard Bluetooth connectivity, with built-in protocols including Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Qobuz Connect. Smart home control and voice commands are managed through built-in Amazon Alexa, along with support for the Alexa+ assistant platform in compatible regions.

Additionally, the Music Follows Me feature allows users to press and hold the Moment button on any speaker to transfer audio from room to room without using a phone or app.

Home Theater Integration and Availability

The Cove speakers also integrate with existing home theater equipment. According to Morningstar, the Cove speakers work with JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars. Through the JBL One app, the M1 and P1 models can be added to a compatible soundbar to function as wireless rear surround channels for a Dolby Atmos home theater setup, while the X1 can group with the soundbar lineup for multi-room music playback.

Preorders for the JBL Cove series began on September 1, 2026, with general availability and shipping starting September 13, 2026, directly through JBL.com and retail channels.
