Pennsylvania State Police are actively investigating an attempted child luring in Concord Township after a 10-year-old boy riding a scooter was approached by a man in a tan sedan, according to NBC10 Philadelphia. The incident unfolded at approximately 4:15 p.m. on October 29 along Andrien Road in a residential neighborhood.
The Encounter on Andrien Road
The boy was navigating his scooter through the neighborhood when the driver of an older-model tan sedan pulled up and engaged him. According to the police report, the man—described as white, between 50 and 60 years old with grey hair—asked the child about his scooter and told him to move closer to the vehicle. KYW Newsradio noted that the specific location of the encounter was in the Glen Mills area of Concord Township.
A local resident spotted the interaction, stepped in, and confronted the driver. Hearing the challenge, the man immediately drove away from the scene.
A Second Vehicle and Surveillance Clues
The danger did not entirely dissipate with the departure of the tan sedan. WPVI reported that a short time after the initial confrontation, a black sedan briefly stopped across the street from the same residence before fleeing the area. Initial surveillance footage reviewed by investigators suggests that both the tan sedan and the black sedan may have followed the child earlier while he was riding his scooter.
Authorities have not yet clarified whether the drivers of the two vehicles were working in coordination or if the appearance of the black sedan was coincidental. State troopers at the Media station are handling the ongoing investigation.
Police Appeal for Information
Investigators are urging anyone who lives in the area and possesses home surveillance footage, dashcam recordings, or direct information about the vehicles or the driver to come forward. The Pennsylvania State Police Media Station is handling tips from the public as the search for the driver of the tan sedan continues.
