Progressive expands Denny Hamlin sponsorship for 2027
Progressive Insurance is increasing its sponsorship of Denny Hamlin's No. 11 Toyota, securing primary sponsorship for 24 Cup Series races during the 2027 NASCAR season, Joe Gibbs Racing announced.
The expanded agreement marks a massive leap from the insurance company’s initial involvement. According to reports from sports.yahoo.com, Progressive served as the primary sponsor for only three races in 2025 after first entering the partnership in March of that year.
This commitment places the brand on the hood of Hamlin’s car for nearly half the season, including the Daytona 500 on February 21. It also covers eight of the 10 Chase races, concluding with the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 14, 2027.
“Progressive is an incredible sponsor, and we are excited to have them with us for so many races in 2027,” Hamlin said in a statement released by Joe Gibbs Racing.

Hamlin noted that the partnership has felt natural both on and off the track, adding, “Plus, the blue car with the huge Progressive P on the hood is a staple of NASCAR races now, and I am proud to be the one behind the wheel representing them.”
A partnership built on track results
The decision to deepen the investment follows a period of high-profile success for the driver and the sponsor. In their debut season in 2025, Hamlin drove the Progressive-sponsored Toyota to a runner-up finish. Heavy.com reported that Hamlin also secured wins at Martinsville Speedway, Dover Motor Speedway, and World Wide Technology Raceway with Progressive as his primary sponsor during that year.
The momentum continued into 2026. Hamlin earned two victories with the company this year, winning the NASCAR All-Star Race at Dover Motor Speedway and a race at Nashville Superspeedway.

For the sponsor, the move represents a calculated bet on a veteran driver’s consistency. Progressive Chief Marketing Officer Mari Pumarejo told Joe Gibbs Racing that while some partnerships look good on paper, others “genuinely click.”
The stakes for Hamlin’s final years
The 2027 season carries extra weight for the 45-year-old driver. While not formally announced, Heavy.com reported that Hamlin has maintained that the 2027 season will be his final year of full-time Cup Series racing. He is currently under contract with Joe Gibbs Racing through the end of 2027.
The timing of this sponsorship expansion coincides with a high-pressure championship battle. As of November 8, 2026, Hamlin sits third in the Cup Series Chase standings. He enters the upcoming season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway trailing points leader Kyle Larson by 70 points.
The 2027 Progressive race schedule
The 2027 schedule ensures the Progressive brand appears at many of the sport’s most critical venues. Beyond the season opener, the primary sponsorship will cover several high-profile dates, including:
- Atlanta
- Circuit of the Americas
- Phoenix
- Bristol
- Talladega
- Charlotte
- Nashville
- Michigan
- Chicagoland
- Iowa
- Indianapolis
- World Wide Technology Raceway
The expanded investment suggests that Progressive views Hamlin’s veteran presence as a primary vehicle for brand visibility during the most watched segments of the NASCAR calendar.
Hamlin enters the final stretch of the 2026 season with 64 career victories, maintaining his status as one of the winningest drivers in the history of the sport.
