Carousel Club: Nashville’s New 86,000-Square-Foot Family Haven From Strategic Hospitality
Strategic Hospitality, the acclaimed Nashville-based restaurant group, is expanding its reach with a massive new private members club designed from the ground up for families. The group, known for its three Michelin stars, has leased an 86,000-square-foot space in Berry Hill to build Carousel Club, a comprehensive venue aiming to solve a common parental dilemma: finding a place that’s fun for kids and genuinely enjoyable for adults.
As reported by the Nashville Business Journal, the ambitious project combines a culinary focus with extensive amenities for all ages, including kids’ play areas, fitness studios, and dedicated adult-only spaces. Founding-member invitations have already gone out, with plans to open to the wider waitlist in early 2028.
A Place for Everyone, Finally
The concept, officially named Carousel Club, was born from a personal struggle felt by its founders. “We kept finding that the places our kids loved going weren’t places we wanted to spend time, and the places my wife, Molly, and I loved weren’t really designed for our kids,” said Nashville entrepreneur Andrew Sohr, one of the driving forces behind the club. “We started asking ourselves why those two things had to be separate. Why couldn’t there be one amazing place that kids were begging to go and parents genuinely wanted to stay?”
This question became the central thesis for Carousel Club. The Berry Hill location at 3040 Sidco Drive will be transformed into a sprawling complex that directly addresses the needs of every family member. For children, the club will feature a kids’ jungle gym, an arcade, and a dedicated music room. For adults, there will be indoor pickleball courts, a movie theater, a fitness center, and a Pilates studio. The entire experience is being built around the idea that food and drink are the social glue that brings families together.
“Food and drink bring people together, and we want to create more opportunities for families to enjoy that time with one another,” Strategic Hospitality owner Max Goldberg said in a statement. “We’re creating dining experiences that give the whole family something to look forward to, from quick, healthy bites to a great dinner together.”
An All-Star Advisory Team
To ensure the club delivers on its promise of being a special place for families, Strategic Hospitality has assembled a prestigious advisory team. Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson East and “Unreasonable Hospitality” author Will Guidara are lending their expertise and vision to the project.
“As a mom of three, I know how much families are juggling every day,” Johnson East said in a statement. “You want your kids to have a place where they can play, learn, and feel safe, but you also want somewhere you genuinely enjoy spending time yourself. That’s what makes Carousel Club so exciting to me. It’s the kind of place I’ve always wished existed for my family.”
The space is designed to offer separate zones, allowing children to engage in supervised activities while parents can recharge in adult-only areas.
The Berry Hill Neighborhood: A Strategic Choice
Choosing the Berry Hill neighborhood for such a large-scale project is a significant move for Strategic Hospitality. Berry Hill, an enclave known for its music industry roots and vibrant local scene, offers a distinct location that is both central and separate from the bustling downtown core.
While the private club model often carries an air of exclusivity, the founders of Carousel Club frame it as a necessity for creating the specific, high-quality environment they envision. By controlling membership, they can ensure the space remains uncrowded, clean, and tailored to the needs of its intended demographic: families seeking a reliable, all-in-one destination.
Carousel Club’s integration of a culinary team with a Michelin-starred pedigree suggests a focus on premium experiences, from the food served to the design of the play areas and the ambiance of the adult lounges.
For Nashville-area families, the opening of Carousel Club represents a new option for social and recreational planning. It directly addresses a gap in the local market for a venue that doesn’t force a choice between the kids’ happiness and the parents’.
Interested families can join the waitlist for membership invitations by visiting the club’s website, aroundthecarousel.com. As the project moves closer to its 2028 opening date, Strategic Hospitality will extend more membership invitations to families on the waitlist.
