Zendaya kicked off her demonic beauty era at the Los Angeles premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on Monday, wearing an architectural black satin Ashi Studio corset and avant-garde glam styled by Law Roach. The Marvel sequel hits theaters on July 31.

The styling offered a dark, venomous contrast to the ethereal presentation she maintained during her press run for The Odyssey.

Hair artist Ursula Stephen designed the wet, stringy aesthetic, featuring gelled bangs that snaked down the forehead in a pattern reminiscent of a broken web. Stephen utilized Moroccanoil products, Tymo Beauty styling tools, and a Bur Bur brush to manage the inky black ponytail secured at the nape of the neck. Makeup artist Ernesto Casillas completed the look using Prada Beauty cosmetics, combining charcoal, tapioca, teal, and bronze eyeshadows bound by spider-leg lash extensions.

Law Roach and the Architectural Spider Vision

Stylist Law Roach described the overarching fashion narrative behind the press tour as an abstract tribute to the film’s central motif. Zendaya paired her makeup with a structural black satin corset gown featuring a sweeping architectural train designed by Ashi Studio, accented with Boucheron jewelry and Christian Louboutin footwear.

Roach expanded on the creative direction to Variety during the Monday night event, noting the underlying concept guiding the wardrobe choices. You know, in our mind, it’s like this metamorphosis of this woman into this thing. And the jewelry is Boucheron, Roach added.

Archival Tributes and eBay Bargains

While Roach stated he can’t pick a favorite look from the extensive press circuit, he highlighted an archival spiderweb dress by John Galliano from a 1997 Circus collection that Zendaya wore in June at the London premiere of the Marvel sequel. The tour also featured lower-budget finds that generated significant online attention.

Last month, Zendaya bypassed traditional couture at a fan event in Paris by wearing a vintage Spider-Man T-shirt. Roach discovered the item on eBay for just $34.99, later sharing the listing on Instagram with the caption, Style doesn’t always have to cost a fortune.
