Israeli Man Wounded in West Bank Stabbing Attack Sparking Manhunt

An Israeli man in his 20s was moderately to seriously wounded on Monday morning in a terror stabbing attack near the West Bank village of Usarin, prompting an extensive military manhunt, road closures, and village blockades by the Israel Defense Forces and Israel Police.

The incident unfolded Monday morning at Maoz Yehuda Farm near Usarin, according to Rescuers Without Borders. First responders reported that the assailant arrived at the agricultural site in a vehicle, approached the victim to ask if he was carrying a weapon, and then launched a knife assault before fleeing the scene in a white van.

Israeli media outlets identified the wounded individual as a resident of Migdal Ha’emek who was inside a Range Rover when the attack occurred. Medics arriving at the location found the victim conscious and suffering from traumatic injuries.

We were led to a farm where we found a young man, about 19 years old, conscious, suffering from stab wounds to the head, neck, and limbs, said Rescuers Without Borders Magen David Adom medics Aviel Mamelia and Neria Giat. In cooperation with an IDF medical force and together with other medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene, we provided the injured man with initial medical treatment, including stopping the bleeding, bandaging, and immobilization.

The medical personnel added that he is being transported to Beilinson’s trauma unit in a military ambulance for advanced care at the Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus in Petah Tikva.

Security Forces Launch Manhunt and Village Blockades

The military and police response was immediate. The IDF and Israel Police dispatched elite units, including the Duvdevan Unit, the Nahal Brigade, and Unit 636 of the Combat Intelligence Collection Corps, to search for the perpetrator. Security forces established a strict blockade on surrounding villages in the West Bank.

A significant physical clue emerged during the flight of the suspect. According to KAN News, the attacker dropped his mobile phone from his pocket while escaping, allowing security authorities to identify him as an individual known to the security establishment.

Parallel reporting from Israeli Army Radio noted that operations remained under way on Monday to apprehend the suspect following the stabbing in the Nablus governorate.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich issued a statement on X/Twitter offering support to the wounded victim and the security forces conducting the search.

Dagan added that he is in contact with security officials on the ground and receiving updates from the field, while stating, I demand that all roads in the area be closed immediately, that the terrorist be captured, and that everyone who helped him be held accountable.

Dagan emphasized that regional settlements would not surrender to violence, stating that construction and development in Samaria would continue.
