HDR10+ Technologies announced that it is expanding its HDR10+ gaming lineup with nearly 10 new and recently released compatible titles, headlined by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The display technology automatically calibrates visual settings to preserve developers’ artistic vision across compatible monitors and televisions.
Call of Duty Leads the Expansion of HDR10+ Gaming
The addition of Activision Publishing’s upcoming release marks the fifth time a title in the massive military shooter franchise has incorporated the dynamic range format. Set to launch for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 joins past franchise entries such as Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6, Black Ops 7, and Warzone in supporting the display ecosystem. By including Modern Warfare 4, the Call of Duty series reaches its fifth title to embrace the format, while this particular inclusion also highlights the announcement’s most significant franchise commitment. Because the standard works across multiple game engines, building it into one series entry often means future games need little to no extra work, which helps explain why adoption tends to spread within a series once a developer commits to it.

Alongside high-profile franchise releases, the expanded roster spans diverse genres, ranging from role-playing adventures to tactical shooters. Several titles have already enabled the high dynamic range features in recent updates, while others are scheduled to receive them through upcoming patches.

Engine-Level Integration and Hardware Ecosystem
Developed initially by Samsung in 2021 as a royalty-free alternative to Dolby Vision, HDR10+ Gaming communicates in real time with compatible displays to optimize picture quality automatically. The standard ecosystem now includes more than 185 adopters and more than 7,500 HDR10+ Gaming products worldwide, including leading GPU manufacturers and a growing library of compatible games, alongside more than 180 adopters and over 7,500 certified compatible products worldwide.
Technical support is built directly into prominent development frameworks. Unreal Engine 5 already features integration via an HDR10+ Gaming plug-in, alongside adoptions within Electronic Arts’ Frostbite engine, Rockstar Games’ RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine), and CD Projekt Red’s REDengine. The HDR10+ Gaming system is supported on pretty much all Samsung TVs and monitors, given the brand’s involvement in developing the format.
Automatic Calibration Benefits for Players
For players, the software’s biggest perk lies in straightforward convenience, eliminating manual screen adjustments because launching an HDR10+ Gaming title on a compatible display automatically turns on HDR10+ Gaming mode to properly tune the visuals. The platform aims to help creators maintain their intended artistic style across different monitors, ensuring that lighting hues, contrast levels, and overall atmosphere look as true to the original design as each screen allows, while freeing users from manually setting up their displays for HDR.

That automated optimization removes the need for players to use confusing calibration settings whenever they launch a new title, delivering the developer's intended visual quality from the moment a game switches on.
Upcoming Announcements and Year-End Rollouts
HDR10+ Technologies confirmed that additional game titles supporting the standard will be announced imminently by the end of the year, ensuring the list will continue growing before 2027 comes along. With hardware ecosystems expanding and developers adopting the framework early in production cycles, the royalty-free format continues to secure a firm foothold across the software market.
