Addison Grace Feraldi Dies in Aiken Crash on Old Barnwell Road

Addison Grace Feraldi, a 22-year-old Aiken woman, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, when the 2011 Hyundai Sonata she was driving south on Old Barnwell Road near Deer Run Road ran off the road, struck a tree and burst into flames. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:18 p.m., according to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables, who identified her.

The cause of death remains under investigation, and the S.C. Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are continuing to look into what happened. For now, the people who knew her best are holding onto the memories instead.

A life that made people feel welcome

Friends and family describe Feraldi as someone whose presence changed a room. “Addie always brought light to the room,” friend Tucker Crenshaw wrote in a tribute.

Another friend, Aleia Woodard, remembered her laughter, her kindness and the memories they shared, saying the world would not be the same without her. Her cousin, Iris Feraldi, called her a fun and spirited girl with a personality that stood out. She remembered her father, Addison’s uncle, affectionately calling her “Addie-tude” because she was always willing to give as good as she got.

From Aiken High to the golf course

Her obituary describes Feraldi as a lifelong Aiken resident, a 2022 graduate of Aiken High School and an employee at Old Barnwell Golf Course. She is survived by her parents, Corey and Jennifer Feraldi, and her brother, Carter.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Aiken’s First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 6, at Shellhouse Funeral Home in Aiken. Memorial donations may be made to the United Way of Aiken.

What remains open is the question of how the car left the road that afternoon. Until the Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office finish their work, the crash that took her remains officially unexplained.
