Alabama Dismisses Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. Following Harassment Arrest

Kalen DeBoer Cuts Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. From Alabama Roster

“After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program,” Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer stated on Tuesday, via Alex Scarborough of ESPN. The university dismissed the cornerback following his arrest on charges of doxxing and making harassing communications directed at a police officer.

The arrest capped a turbulent tenure for the second-string defensive back who arrived in Tuscaloosa in 2024. Kirkpatrick Jr. is the son of former Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick Dre Kirkpatrick, who spent ten seasons in the NFL across Cincinnati, Arizona, and San Francisco following the 2012 draft.

Escalating Legal Troubles Lead to Immediate Team Suspension and Dismissal

The disciplinary action follows a pattern of off-field legal issues for the younger Kirkpatrick. He was suspended prior to Saturday’s game against Texas A&M after being taken into custody on Friday. Investigators state the doxxing and harassment charges stem from direct interactions with a local law enforcement officer.

Targeted Officer Involved in Prior 2025 Reckless Endangerment Arrest

The targeted officer had previously been involved in Kirkpatrick Jr.’s October 2025 arrest for reckless endangerment, speeding, and attempting to elude police. That incident led to a suspension that kept him sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 season. Beyond the doxxing allegations, court records show Kirkpatrick Jr. faces a separate misdemeanor charge from June 2026 for leaving the scene of an accident.

Threatening Texts and Family Photo Shared on Facebook Sparked Charges

Recent communication included text messages telling the officer, “text me back don’t be no bitch!” along with a published photograph of the officer and his family shared on Facebook.

“He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players,” DeBoer said.
