The Wildcats secured a 39-3 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Casino Del Sol Stadium in Tucson, Arizona. The matchup carried implications for the College Football Playoff race in the Big 12. Following the game, Brennan made a detour to Dirtbag’s, a popular bar near the University of Arizona campus where fans gather after games.
“For me, I’ve said it since I got here and it’s been a thing for me the whole time I’ve been a head coach, I think it’s important that if you want people to show up for you, you gotta show up for them,” Brennan said on Monday, according to foxnews.com. “It was an easy way for me to pop in there, with all of our alumni in town for homecoming, the excitement from the game, to go in there, and say hello and get out.”
Inside the Five-Minute Bar Stop
The impromptu celebration required swift execution. Brennan walked into the establishment, ordered 300 shots of tequila for the assembled Arizona fans, settled the $2,000 tab, and exited within five minutes.
“I was in there for five minutes. It was an expensive five minutes, but it was a good five minutes,” Brennan recalled to foxnews.com. “Just wanted to invest in our fans and let them know how much we appreciate them as a football team.”
Community Ticket Purchases Before Kickoff
The bar visit followed a separate community outreach effort earlier in the week. Recognizing that tickets remained available ahead of the homecoming game against Iowa State, Brennan purchased 1,000 tickets for local youth organizations.

The distribution included children connected to the Boys & Girls Club, the Ronald McDonald House, and local football leagues and other clubs in the area. Honorary captain Jose Portilla joined Brennan on the sideline during the September 19 game against Northern Illinois, but the coach’s recent ticket initiative specifically targeted children, including those going through hard times.
“So, as you know, we just want to make it available to as many people as we can. And I thought this was a really easy way to engage some really some groups that are important to me, but also give some people a chance to see this football team play,” Brennan explained to foxnews.com.
