Chicago Band My Empire Celebrates ‘M.E’ Album at Fargo Venue

Chicago hardcore outfit My Empire is marking the release of its nine-track debut album “M.E” with a Saturday night performance at Fargo Venue, 641 E. Lincoln Highway, where a $10 cover gets fans in the door for a 6:30 p.m. start, Northern Star reported.

The album, which dropped Friday to the rejoicing of listeners who had long awaited the group’s feature-length debut, anchors a release show that also features sets from fellow acts Skinblasted, Lethargy, Slain By Mercy and Myssy. For a band deeply rooted in the hardcore scene from DeKalb to Chicago, the record shows not just in its music but in the attitudes of the group.

“We are insanely proud of this album and it truly wouldn’t be as special without everyone’s support, from Heroes West to Casa Cafe, we wanna give you guys something real and something heavy. We are My Empire and we got something to say,” the band said in a social media statement.

Tsavo Walker, Fargo’s event organizer, spoke to the specific connection the venue fosters and the role it played in being selected for the show.

A Small Stage With a Direct Line to the Crowd

The Fargo Venue offers a small, intimate setting where Walker says the band can have a more direct connection with fans. “It’s a small intimate venue,” Walker said. “There’s a stage but it’s only a small stage so it’s a great place where they can show off their music and have more of a direct connection with fans and concert goers.”

Walker noted that the group consistently delivers high-energy performances, explaining that they always tear the house down. The release of the debut album only adds to the must-see nature of their return.

The Work Behind the Show

A release show of this scale does not materialize without significant coordination. "It's a lot of work, particularly on My Empire's part," Walker said, describing the scheduling logistics needed to align the band, the venue, and all participants. "Of course you have your normal work, which would be sort of the logistics of organizing everyone's schedules so that they can find a date that works not only for, of course, the band, but the venue and everyone involved."

Walker pointed to their efforts building anticipation through social media and content teasers, including recent song previews and a newly released video.

Where to Hear “M.E”

For those unable to attend Saturday’s release show, the nine-track album “M.E” is available to stream on platforms including Spotify and Apple Music, released to the rejoice of fans who had long awaited the group’s feature-length debut.

The Saturday performance celebrated the new record and recognized the work—venues like Fargo, NIU's campus, and supporters from Heroes West to Casa Cafe—that brings the local hardcore scene together.
