Concord Man Charged With Murder After Wife Found Fatally Stabbed on Panoramic Drive
A Concord man who was out on bail in a domestic violence case is now accused of stabbing his wife to death inside their home, prosecutors said. Thomas Iovenitti, 40, faces a murder charge in the death of Alisha Iovenitti, according to charging documents filed by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
Concord police officers rushed to the 2300 block of Panoramic Drive shortly before 9 p.m. Friday following a 911 call reporting a disturbance involving a man and a knife. Inside the residence, responding officers discovered a man and a woman unresponsive, both suffering from severe stab wounds. Alisha Iovenitti was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prior Domestic Violence Charges and Active Stay-Away Order
Court records show that the defendant was out on a $1,000 bail stemming from a domestic violence case filed in May. That earlier filing included charges of assault with a deadly weapon, assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, corporal injury to a spouse, and false imprisonment.
As a condition of his release in the pending matter, Iovenitti was bound by a court-ordered stay-away mandate explicitly barring him from contacting his wife or returning to the family home on Panoramic Drive.
Judicial Proceedings and Custody Status
Iovenitti remains held in custody at county facilities following the Friday night incident. Prosecutors confirmed he is scheduled to appear in Contra Costa County Superior Court on Wednesday for his formal arraignment on the open murder charge.
