Ecuadorian conjoined twin influencers José Luis and José Armando Cevallos have died at age 27. The brothers passed away in a hospital in Zipaquirá, Colombia, following a sudden medical emergency that began after José Luis suffered a cardiac arrest during a rehabilitation trip.
The Medical Emergency in Colombia and Final Hospitalization
The brothers had traveled from Ecuador to Colombia in April to undergo specialist rehabilitation treatment with the ambition of learning to walk independently. Brothers Jose Luis and Jose Armando Cevallos Herrera died in hospital in Colombia after travelling from Ecuador to undergo rehabilitation treatment.
Although doctors successfully resuscitated and stabilized him, José Armando suffered a heart attack just minutes later, and both brothers died in the early hours of October 15.
Social Media Legacy and Everyday Determination
Known widely online as the Conjoined Twins of Ecuador, they built a massive digital footprint, amassing more than 837,000 followers on TikTok and nearly 61,000 on Instagram, alongside presences on Kick and Twitch.
Rather than hiding away, the brothers used their platforms to document the unfiltered reality of their daily lives. Just days before their deaths, on October 12, they posted a video showing their progress as they practised standing upright with the help of a wall.
As children, the brothers struggled to coordinate their legs and were forced to drag themselves across the floor. Jose Luis previously recalled dragging themselves along the floor and how difficult it was because they lacked coordination with their legs. They eventually began using a toy dumper truck to move around before switching to a wheeled board resembling a skateboard.
Jose Luis previously stated that if they were born again, they would be conjoined twins, while his brother Jose Armando described sharing his life with his twin as the most beautiful gift God had given him. The pair also spoke candidly about the difficulties of making friends and dealing with strangers’ reactions in public, remaining determined to inspire others living with disabilities.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and a disability is no barrier to being happy.
