Gwadar Hosts High-Profile Independence Day Ceremony With Military Leaders

Gwadar recently hosted a ceremony featuring military and civilian leadership to mark Independence Day.

Independence Day celebrations brought together senior government and military officials in a special ceremony held in Gwadar. The regional gathering highlighted national unity, peace, and cultural heritage through a series of performances by local artists and singers.

Official Presence and Cultural Performances in Gwadar

The event in Gwadar drew leadership, including Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the Corps Commander Quetta, the GOC, and various other senior officials. Speakers at the gathering used the platform to emphasize the importance of national unity, peace, development, harmony and love for the homeland.

Cultural expressions formed a major component of the program. Artists staged a special tableau alongside a traditional Leva dance performed by a cultural group, while patriotic and Balochi cultural songs filled the venue. Attendees also viewed a special video dedicated to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Bilateral Ties Celebrated in the United States

Half a world away, the Pakistani American Press Association organized a special joint event marking both Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary. Pakistani Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh attended the gathering as a special guest, joined by community leaders, government officials, and media representatives.

The transatlantic celebration focused on the enduring values connecting the two nations. Participants discussed ways to deepen bilateral friendship through expanded trade, investment, and economic cooperation.

Journalistic Integrity and Community Recognition

Addressing the gathering in the United States, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh stressed the foundational role of impartiality, objectivity, and fairness in journalism, calling them essential qualities of a true democratic society. He praised the ongoing efforts of Pakistani American media professionals in bridging the distance between the two nations and their populations.
