Holiday Festival of Lights Returns to James Island County Park Nov 13

James Island County Park prepares for holiday season

The Holiday Festival of Lights returns to James Island County Park starting November 13, 2026. This annual Lowcountry tradition will run nightly through December 31.

Visitors can drive three miles through the park's illuminated lights.

The festival operates from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every night. While the drive through the lights is a primary draw, the park offers various pedestrian activities once guests park their vehicles.

Family activities and seasonal attractions feature sand sculptures and carousels

The park has organized several family-oriented features for the 2026 season. These include a 50-ton sand sculpture and an old-fashioned carousel. For those seeking more active engagement, a climbing wall is available on-site.

Food and shopping options are integrated into the festival experience. Visitors can find holiday gifts and ornaments at local shops or purchase snacks such as kettle corn, pretzels, and sweet treats. The park also provides opportunities for marshmallow roasting over an open fire.

The festival includes several specific scheduled attractions:
