Joshua Cabe Billings: A Life of Skill and Community in Payson

Joshua Cabe Billings, a man known to his family and neighbors as a skilled craftsman with an enduring sense of adventure, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2021. Born on July 13, 1977, at the American Fork hospital, he was the second son of R. Brent Billings and Carma H. Billings. His life, which began in Orem, eventually took root in Payson, Utah, where he grew up alongside five brothers. This upbringing in a large, energetic household fostered a lifelong appreciation for connection and shared activity.

As reported by the Walker Funeral Home & Cremation Center, the years Josh spent with his family shaped his character, blending a strong work ethic with a playful spirit that persisted well into his adulthood. He was a man defined by his versatility, possessing a practical mastery over metalworking, welding, woodworking, gardening, and concrete work. Friends and neighbors often noted that there seemed to be no project beyond his reach, and he was consistently generous with his time, assisting those around him with their own repairs and builds.

Balancing Hard Work with Outdoor Adventure

Beyond his professional skills, Josh was deeply committed to his family. On October 6, 2012, he married Kelly Rivera, embracing her young son, Joshua, as his own. Together, they navigated the challenges of life, finding growth and stability through shared experiences. When the work was finished, he was known to pursue life with as much intensity as he applied to his labor. Whether he was camping, snowmobiling, boating, or embarking on road trips, he sought out the opportunities for discovery that his schedule permitted.
