NJCA Congratulates Endorsed Candidates on Election Victories

New Jersey Citizen Action congratulated its endorsed candidates on their general election victories November 3, celebrating wins for Senator Cory Booker, seven House representatives, three representatives-elect, and a mayor. The progressive advocacy group issued its statement from Newark, framing the results as a mandate for leaders who will expand healthcare access and confront economic inequality.

In a statement, NJCA Executive Director Dena Mottola Jaborska said voters had rejected the Trump administration’s agenda. “Today millions of Americans raised their voices for working families, for a just economy, and against the racism, corruption, and authoritarianism of the Trump administration,” she said. She added that New Jersey voters elected leaders who will work to “expand access to affordable, quality healthcare, lower surging costs for families, protect consumers from financial predators, and defend against the federal assaults on immigrants, people of color, our communities, and the very foundations of our democracy.”

Celebrates Diverse Election Wins

The organization congratulated Senator Cory Booker, Representatives Donald Norcross, Herb Conaway, Frank Pallone, Rob Menendez, Nellie Pou, LaMonica McIver, and Anallila Mejia, Representatives-elect Dr. Adam Hamawy, Zack Mullock, and Rebecca Bennett, and Mayor Vic Deluca on their election victories.

Concession and a Call for Bipisanship

The statement also thanked Congressional Democratic candidate Rachel Peace for her “hard-fought, robust campaign” that mobilized people around the issues of healthcare, economic and social equity, and a stronger democracy. Jaborska urged Peace’s Republican opponent and all newly elected political leaders to “reach out across the aisle and begin the hard work that lies ahead,” adding that New Jerseyans—and all Americans—deserve an economy that works for everyone and a government of, by, and for the people.
