On November 7, the Indiana Pacers will tip off against the Denver Nuggets at Arena CDMX during Día de Muertos week, marking the franchise’s first regular-season game in Mexico City, nba.com reported. The night will culminate in a sea of gold as Pacers Gold Out T-shirts blanket the arena seats, transplanting the team’s signature Indianapolis tradition to an international stage just days after Halloween.
This isn’t merely a road game. It is the centerpiece of “Gold Out Global,” a multi-market initiative powered by Lucas Oil that aims to weave Indianapolis and Mexico City together through basketball, entertainment, and culture. The stakes are demographic as much as athletic: Latino residents now comprise roughly 16% of Marion County’s population, and the Pacers are positioning themselves to serve a growing Spanish-speaking fanbase through Los Pacers social channels on Facebook and Instagram, select Spanish-language content on Pacers.com, and local Spanish-language broadcasts of 10 home games this season.
Quest for Gold Spans Two Cities and Two Weeks
Lucas Oil’s Quest for Gold scavenger hunt is running through Indianapolis from November 1–3, with daily clues and quests leading fans to prizes including autographed Pacers jerseys, game tickets, and exclusive merchandise. A gold Pacers-branded Volkswagen Beetle serves as a mobile vault in both markets. Starting November 5, the adventure shifts to Mexico City through November 7, with fans registering at PacersInMexicoCity.com to receive clues before they are shared on the website and through Pacers social channels. First launched at the NBA Paris Game 2025, the scavenger hunt now connects fans in Indianapolis and Mexico City ahead of the November 7 game.
The activation extends beyond digital scavenger hunts. On Halloween, Lucas Oil and the Pacers transformed a home in a popular Indianapolis trick-or-treating neighborhood into a golden beacon, surprising trick-or-treaters with Pacers giveaways. In Indianapolis, Lucas Oil also presented a Mexico City-themed game night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on November 2, while Math Hoops programming with local students in Mexico City extends the educational outreach across borders.

WWE and AAA Bring Lucha Libre to the Hardwood
Basketball isn’t the only sport crossing borders. Building on a longstanding relationship that brought WWE’s first-ever Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in 2025, the Pacers are collaborating with WWE and Mexican lucha libre promotion AAA for the Mexico City game. AAA Mega Champion El Grande Americano is being showcased in a special limited-run T-shirt line created by PS&E Global Design and Product Director Jas Bell working alongside WWE’s creative team, intended for Pacers players and certain WWE performers.
The partnership uses Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton’s existing fanbase—he has appeared on WWE television and wore throwback HHH gear when he arrived for the team’s season opener. A Pacers shop-in-shop at LUST, a Mexico City sneaker and streetwear destination, will host exclusive WWE merchandise, while a private event at the venue will bring together WWE talent and TKO executives. The team also plans to host a WWE-themed game night in Indianapolis and release another limited-edition, high-heat merchandise line later this season.

Cadillac F1 Team Extends Indianapolis Sports Celebration
The Mexico City activation doesn’t exist in a vacuum. The Pacers are collaborating with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team—America’s new Formula 1 squad making a home in Indianapolis—which competed in the Mexico City Grand Prix before the Pacers arrive. Scheduled promotions feature material connected to Mexican racer Sergio “Checo” Pérez and his 300th Grand Prix start, plus a swap of a Pacers jersey and racing helmet. This collaboration adds to a broader two-week celebration of Indianapolis sports and the global reach of both the NBA and Formula 1.
Murals and Merchandise Tie Pacers to Mexico City
Beyond the court, the Pacers are embedding themselves in Mexico City’s cultural fabric through street art and merchandise. Working with local Mexican artists, the team is installing Pacers-themed murals across Mexico City to establish a tangible, enduring bond with the communities hosting it. A fresh high-heat Pacers CDMX capsule drawn from the team, Mexican culture, and Día de Muertos showcases Bell’s artwork and can be purchased at the Pacers team store and online; multiple pieces from the collection vanished within hours, with only small amounts remaining for supporters.
Back home, the Pacers Foundation recently revitalized a community basketball court at Grassy Creek Park on Indianapolis’ near east side, incorporating Los Pacers branding. Other offerings consist of a complimentary showing of Disney Pixar’s Coco at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, a neighborhood watch party for the November 7 Mexico City matchup, and the comeback of Noche Éne Bé A, the Pacers’ Hispanic and Latino heritage theme night.
“Taking our Gold Out global is an opportunity to bring our brand and our partners into new markets in ways that are authentic, creative and engaging for fans,” said PS&E Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Joey Graziano. “We’re connecting basketball with sports and entertainment properties while strengthening our ties to Indiana and building new connections in Mexico City, and our partners are an important part of bringing that experience to life.”
When the Nuggets arrive on November 7, they’ll step into an arena where basketball, lucha libre, Formula 1, and Día de Muertos converge—a reminder that for the Pacers, the gold now stretches far beyond the borders of Indiana.
