Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Launches Nov 5 for Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo launches its physical remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on November 5, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States, driving pre-order demand that has prompted Best Buy to schedule midnight store openings.

Amazon and Walmart Discount Remastered Title Pre-Orders

Amazon and Walmart have listed the remastered title for $10 off its standard price before launch day. Amazon restricted its discount to Prime members, while Walmart made the lower price available to all shoppers through October 11.

The digital version of the game retails for $59.99, whereas physical copies were initially priced at $69.99 before being discounted to $59.88 at Amazon, which also offers a preorder price guarantee for buyers.

Best Buy Schedules Midnight Openings Across the United States

Best Buy announced that nearly all U.S. stores will open their doors at midnight Eastern time on November 5. Participating locations will operate on regional schedules, opening at 11 p.m. Central, 10 p.m. Mountain, and 9 p.m. Pacific on November 4.

These late-night openings will offer limited numbers of the Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 system and the matching Pro Controller. Customers who previously ordered online for home delivery can log into their accounts to modify their orders for store pickup.

Nintendo Updates N64 Classic With Switch 2 Features

Nintendo’s updated version of the Nintendo 64 classic brings overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue, and symphonic orchestral music tailored for the newer hardware. Players can also utilize the console’s microphone to hum or sing into Link’s ocarina, or opt for HORI’s separate Electric Ocarina of Time accessory.

Collectors purchasing the physical edition will receive special packaging that features textured foil cover art. Fans seeking themed hardware can purchase the 40th Anniversary console—retailing for $519.99 or $520 depending on the retailer—which features a gold and black dock highlighted by a gold Triforce and matching Joy-Con controllers.

The original Nintendo 64 title debuted in 1998, following Link through the kingdom of Hyrule on a quest to protect the Triforce from Ganondorf. It marked the franchise’s first 3D entry before receiving subsequent rereleases on the Nintendo GameCube, Wii and Wii U virtual consoles, and a 2011 remake for the Nintendo 3DS.

Gamers can purchase the 40th Anniversary console and Pro Controller when they become available on October 29.
