5.5 Million Won Discounts Lead Hyundai and Kia Year-End Sales Event

Hyundai Motor and Kia are rolling out aggressive year-end purchase discounts and interest-free installment programs worth up to 5.5 million Korean won, as both automakers grapple with a persistent domestic sales slump.

Announced on November 1 as part of the country’s largest shopping festival, the “2026 K-Sale Festa,” the sweeping promotions run through December 31, chosun.com reported. The government-supported, industry-led festival comes at a crucial time for domestic manufacturers trying to clear inventory before the calendar turns.

The scale of the discounts varies heavily by model, trim, and purchasing method. Kia is applying reductions of up to 11% across 10,000 units of 16 different models released in November. Buyers eyeing the Sorento 2.2 Diesel Noblesse trim can stack vehicle-specific price cuts with display vehicle incentives to shave up to 5.5 million Korean won off the purchase price.

The Sorento and Tasman lead Kia’s lineup with maximum discounts of up to 11%. Meanwhile, the K9, EV6, and Bongo EV secure up to 10% off, and the Carnival, K5, K8, EV3, EV4, and EV9 receive up to 8% reductions. An additional 1 million Korean won in purchase benefits is available across 1,000 designated display vehicles.

Hyundai is focusing its promotional firepower on three core volume sellers: the Avante, Grandeur, and Santa Fe. The Avante gasoline model carries a base discount of 1 million Korean won, arriving just three months after its initial pricing announcement sparked public debate. The Santa Fe offers a base discount of 1 million Korean won alongside an extra reduction of up to 1 million Korean won tied to production timing.

For buyers preferring zero-percent financing over direct cash reductions, Hyundai and Kia are introducing extensive interest-free installment plans of up to 60 months for the Santa Fe and Palisade, including their hybrid variants. Compared to standard financing rates sitting at an annual 5.6%, the zero-percent incentive yields substantial savings. According to the promotional data, interest savings reach roughly 5.4 million Korean won for the standard Santa Fe, 5.8 million Korean won for the Santa Fe Hybrid, 6.7 million Korean won for the gas Palisade, and 7.4 million Korean won for the Palisade Hybrid.

These financing perks come with strict conditions. Buyers must put down a 20% down payment using Hyundai-exclusive cards or Hyundai Card M-series cards, and availability is capped at the first 2,000 units per model.

Pre-owned car buyers are also included in the year-end push. Hyundai is issuing 200,000 Korean won discount coupons to customers purchasing certified pre-owned Hyundai and Genesis models throughout November. Kia is discounting designated K-series, Sorento, Mohave, and Carnival models by 3% to 4%, while electric vehicles receive a flat 2% price cut.

Customers who sign vehicle contracts this month and finalize their purchases by December 15 will receive an added bonus: a 200,000 Korean won charging voucher for electric vehicles, or a digital Onnuri gift certificate for internal combustion and hybrid models.
