Essentially, all of the work gone into this transfer was for nothing and it was never going to happen, meaning Liverpool must now pivot to something else as they desperately need a new winger. Reports on Sunday suggest that Bradley Barcola could be the one, though he’d also be expensive, and Liverpool are well underway in negotiations to sign the Paris Saint-Germain star with an agreement struck over personal terms while the Reds continue to agree a fee despite claims it is already sealed, forcing them to take a massive financial risk anyway.

Liverpool also pursued Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah. However, news earlier on Wednesday from Ben Jacobs and Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool are not going to make a third bid for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh after Brighton’s valuation of Yankuba Minteh was deemed infeasible.

Despite Liverpool exploring the possibility to sign Endrick on loan with a buy option clause, or on a permanent deal with a big proposal, Madrid’s stance remains absolute for now. Romano added that if at the end of December, Christmas time, Endrick is not playing on a regular basis, in that case we cannot close doors to another loan for Endrick as it was at Lyon last season, making it for sure a situation to follow in January, but for now Endrick is staying.
