The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division and Crime Scene Unit are working alongside the department’s Forensic Sciences Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. According to an official statement, all next of kin notifications have been completed by the sheriff’s office.

Forensic testing positively identified all nine individuals involved in the crash. The flight crew included pilot Jeffrey Gregory, 55, and copilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20. Filgueiras was the first to be identified after her voice was heard communicating with air traffic control, drawing emotional tributes from instructors who remembered her as a naturally gifted aviator.

The seven passengers lost in the flight were tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson, 44, his wife Helen Sharp, 40, and their two young children, Emma, 4, and Charles, 2. Also onboard were the family’s nanny, Ana Maria Ramirez Cetina, 24, and family friends Rachel Reed, 38, and Rowan Charmi Fehr Toews, 28.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the accident. National Transportation Safety Board preliminary findings indicate that the pilots encountered ice and moderate turbulence at 35,000 feet, requesting a climb to 37,000 feet shortly before the aircraft experienced a rapid descent and broke apart in mid-air.
