Broad River Retail has completed the acquisition of six Ashley furniture stores and a distribution center in Oregon, expanding its retail footprint into a seventh state. The transaction increases the company’s Ashley store network to 45 locations and triples its store count in the Northwest region.
The acquired stores are located in Clackamas, Jantzen Beach, and Tigard in the Portland area, as well as in Corvallis, Salem, and Springfield. The deal also includes a distribution center in Salem that will support the new retail network in the state.
Expansion Strategy
The acquisition marks a significant growth move for Broad River Retail, which has added 13 locations to its network over the past 12 months. The company plans to open its 46th retail location in Orangeburg, South Carolina, in mid-November.

“Our goal was never for the Northwest to simply be a spoke in our network,” shared Charlie Malouf, Chief Executive Officer. “We wanted to build another wheel, and Oregon gives us the team and foundation to do that.”
Workforce Integration
The acquisition will integrate more than 70 new employees, whom Broad River Retail refers to as “Memory Makers,” into its organization. The company emphasized its commitment to building on the relationships these teams have established within their local communities.
“We’re excited to welcome more than 70 new Memory Makers and build on the relationships these teams have established in their communities,” said Manny Rodrigues, President and Chief Operating Officer of Broad River Retail.
More information about the acquisition is available in the company’s full press release.
