DiJonai Carrington Joins Breeze BC for Unrivaled 2027 Season

DiJonai Carrington Joins Breeze BC, Teaming Up With Monique Billings

For Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington, a rough 2026 WNBA season is giving way to a fresh start. After playing just 11 games last year, averaging 8.8 points and 3.1 rebounds while recovering from a foot injury, Carrington is shifting focus to the new 3-on-3 league, Unrivaled. And in a move sure to raise eyebrows, she’ll be playing alongside Indiana Fever forward Monique Billings.

The news, reported by Athlon on November 5, 2026, became official when Unrivaled announced the rosters for its 2027 season, which kicks off this January. Carrington, who signed a multi-year deal with the league back in August, will suit up for Breeze BC. The team already features a lineup, including former Dallas Wings teammate Paige Bueckers, Kahleah Copper, Kaitlyn Chen, and Dominique Malonga.

A Rivalry Forged on the Court

Carrington has a history with the Indiana Fever, including a heated incident during the 2026 WNBA season. The two teams, the Sky and the Fever, share a heated rivalry. The tension boiled over on August 8th when Carrington was ejected from a game against the Fever for a hard foul on Sophie Cunningham. The play was upgraded to a Flagrant 2, forcing her removal from the contest.

The controversy didn’t end there. After the game, Carrington took to social media, posting “White Privilege” and tagging the Fever.

A New Chapter, a New Opportunity

For Carrington, the move to Unrivaled represents a significant opportunity to join the 3-on-3 league for its 2027 season. The 2026 season was a challenging one, not just due to her limited playing time but also because the Sky, with a 16-28 record, failed to reach the postseason. This meant fewer opportunities to showcase her talent in high-pressure situations.
