Drumshanbo Store Sells the Jackpot Ticket

The ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Scollan’s Gala store on Church Street in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim. Store owner Karol Scollan expressed his excitement over the sale. His business has operated in the heart of Drumshanbo for over two decades. Scollan wished the winner the very best.

We’ve been here in the heart of Drumshanbo for over 20 years and have had some fantastic National Lottery wins along the way, but a Lotto jackpot of over €4.7 million really tops the lot. It’s wonderful to think that one of our customers is holding that winning ticket. There’ll be plenty to celebrate in the shop today.

Representatives visited the Drumshanbo store following the announcement. The National Lottery confirmed that the winning retail location would be officially announced. Emma Monaghan noted that there would no doubt be plenty of excitement in the town. The winner has since made contact with the Prize Claims team. Arrangements are underway for them to visit the Winners’ Room at National Lottery headquarters.

Updated Rules Improve Jackpot Odds

This major payout marks the second Lotto jackpot win since a game refresh was introduced in September. That refresh reduced the total number of balls from 47 to 45. The adjustment altered the odds of winning the top prize from one in 10.7 million to one in 8.1 million. A retail location in Cork sold the first jackpot-winning ticket under the revised rules in October.

The Leitrim winner claims the distinction of being the 27th National Lottery millionaire of 2026. They are also the 15th millionaire generated specifically through Lotto and Lotto Plus games this year. Across all National Lottery games, the win brings the total number of 2026 millionaires to 37.
