Eastport Yacht Club Launches 2026 Summer Coaching Recruitment
The Eastport Yacht Club in Annapolis, Maryland, is looking to fill its summer coaching roster. Sailing jobs reported that the club is actively recruiting Lead and Assistant Instructors for its upcoming 2026 summer program.
Fundamentals First Across Diverse Boat Classes
Unlike programs that lean heavily into competitive circuits early on, the Eastport Yacht Club focuses its programming on teaching fundamentals. Racing basics are reserved strictly for the highest levels of the curriculum.
The facility runs beginner to advanced courses across several boat classes. Young sailors train in Optis, RS Zests, Melges15, and J22 keelboats throughout the nine-week summer schedule.
Lead Instructors Earn up to Twenty Three Dollars Hourly
Lead Instructors take charge of specific boat classes, steering the curriculum and managing junior staff with support from the Head Instructor and Program Director. The club expects candidates to bring several years of summer sailing instruction experience and the capacity to work productively without constant supervision. Pay for lead roles ranges from $18 to $23 per hour.

Assistant Instructors work alongside their assigned leads and help manage the Instructors in Training. Responsibilities for assistants include driving powerboats alone, leading chalk talks, and stepping in to supervise activities when a lead instructor is occupied. Assistant pay scales from $13.50 to $17 per hour.

Instructor training week kicks off on June 7th. The core summer program runs from June 14th through August 13th, operating Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Beyond the summer months, the club also provides coaching opportunities for locals during the spring and fall.
