Fourteen Arrests Span Philadelphia and Neshoba County, From Aggravated Assault to Child Neglect

A single slate of bookings released this week shows fourteen people jailed across Philadelphia and Neshoba County, with charges running from aggravated assault and aggravated DUI to child neglect and driving without insurance, kicks96news.com reported.

The heaviest charges belong to two Philadelphia men held without bond pending investigation. Joshua O. Burrage, 32, faces aggravated assault manifesting extreme indifference to life and felony conspiracy, with bonds set at $0, $50,000, and $25,000, according to the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO). Dakota Wallace, 22, also of Philadelphia, is held on two counts of aggravated assault manifesting extreme indifference to life plus felony conspiracy to commit a crime, with bonds of $0, $50,000 each on the assault counts and $25,000 on the conspiracy charge.

Aggravated DUI appears once on the list: Alandaz Cortez Payne, 25, of Newton, was booked by the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) with a $50,000 bond — matching the single highest individual bond attached to Burrage’s assault charge.

Child Neglect and a Stack of Missed Court Dates

Sharyn Denson, 48, of Philadelphia, faces two counts of child neglect and three counts of failure to appear, all through NCSO. Her bonds run $800 on each neglect count and $0 on each failure to appear, meaning she remains held on the open warrants. Zerick Laquinn Houston, 36, of Philadelphia, and Jada Leann John, 26, of Choctaw, also face failure to appear with $0 bonds.

Three first-offense DUIs round out the traffic side of the docket: Christiana Amos, 24, of Philadelphia (also charged with no insurance and false ID, bonds of $1,500, $800, and $800), Marcus Dewayne Hobbs, 49, of Carthage ($1,500, MHP), and Angel Gayle Willis, 22, of Choctaw ($1,500, NCSO). Steven W. Thompson, 45, of Philadelphia, was booked for driving on a suspended license, no insurance, and a probation violation, with bonds of $800, $800, and $0.

Who Is Behind the Numbers

Eight of the fourteen arrested are from Philadelphia itself, with the rest spread across Choctaw, Carthage, Newton, Louisville, and one out-of-state arrest — Justin Milsap, 34, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, booked by the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) for disorderly conduct and public drunk, $500 each. Amber Lowery, 26, of Philadelphia, was held for public drunk at $600, and Sandeep Singh, 27, of Philadelphia, faces domestic violence simple assault at $2,000. Kentill Hathorn, 33, of Louisville, was booked for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, with a $0 bond on the felony count and $800 on the marijuana charge.

Adding the listed bond amounts together, the fourteen bookings carry a combined $265,200 in bonds set — though several defendants, including Burrage, Wallace, Denson, Hathorn, Houston, John, and Thompson, have at least one charge with a $0 bond, meaning they are being held without the option of posting bail on those counts.
