Unveiled at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on August 19, 2026, Genesis introduced its first full-size flagship electric SUV, the GV90. Built on an exclusive eMP platform, the vehicle features a 123.5-kilowatt-hour battery, pillarless coach doors on the Neolun trim, and an advanced Android Automotive-based infotainment system.
San Francisco Unveiling Establishes a New Flagship Era
Genesis took the wraps off its most ambitious vehicle to date on August 19, 2026, at San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts. The debut of the GV90 marks the luxury brand’s entry into the full-size, three-row SUV segment, serving as the largest model in the lineup and the production realization of the Neolun concept first shown in 2024.
“GV90 is not simply a new vehicle, but a new vision for luxury mobility that brings together inspiring design, AI-powered software and connectivity, and industry-leading safety.”

Engineering the Neolun Arch Gate and Pillarless Cabin
The headline-grabbing feature of the range-topping GV90 Neolun is its Neolun Arch Gate, which introduces independently opening coach doors with a hidden B-pillar
integrated into the doors themselves. Automotive designers have largely avoided pillarless coach doors since the mid-1960s because B-pillars provide crucial structural rigidity and crash protection.

Genesis claims it solved this engineering hurdle through a combination of high-strength steel beams in the doors, a thick roll cage built into the frame, and a newly developed dual-motion hinge
for the rear doors. These hinges allow the rear doors to pop slightly outward before rotating open independently, preventing interference with the front doors.
The standard GV90 adopts conventional swing doors and a three-row layout accommodating up to seven passengers. Meanwhile, the Neolun can be configured as a four-seat executive suite featuring a second-row wood-veneer floor with radiant heating, a privacy partition, roll-up shades, a refrigerator, and a six-zone Smart Vision Roof. In another unique touch, the Neolun’s front seats can electronically rotate 180 degrees while the vehicle is parked.
Powertrain Performance and Dual-Motor Capability
Underneath the luxury appointments lies the eMP platform, an electric-only architecture developed exclusively for Genesis flagship models.
Dual electric motors generate a combined 657 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Genesis estimates a driving range of approximately 311 miles in the US on a single charge. Using a 350-kilowatt DC fast charger, the battery can replenish from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes.
It also marks the first time a Hyundai Group vehicle incorporates dual electronic limited-slip differentials—one on each axle—designed to enhance traction on slippery surfaces and improve high-speed cornering stability.
Pleos Connect Software and Immersive Cabin Technology
Inside the cabin, the GV90 introduces the North American debut of Pleos Connect, an Android Automotive-based operating system developed by Hyundai. The interface draws functional inspiration from modern software-defined vehicle architectures, incorporating an app store and an AI agent named Gleo AI.

Driver and infotainment data display on a pop-up 23.6-inch OLED screen that rises by 90.0 millimeters when the vehicle is parked to expand into a 24.6-inch display for media consumption. A 25.0-inch head-up display replaces a traditional instrument cluster.
Acoustic and sensory features round out the interior experience, anchored by a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen Premier 3D audio system with Dolby Atmos support. Passengers can also utilize Ambient Glow mood lighting and seats equipped with 15 individual air cells and pulse-vibration massage functions.
Exterior Styling Inspired by Traditional Korean Pottery
Measuring 208.1 inches long with a 127.8-inch wheelbase, the GV90 commands a heavy presence on the road. Exterior styling draws direct inspiration from traditional Korean moon jar pottery, emphasizing simple shapes and understated elegance.
The front fascia incorporates Genesis’ familiar two-line lighting signature alongside Wing Face Micro Lens Array headlights and a G-matrix-pattern lower grille. Buyers can select from 16 exterior colors, split between 13 gloss finishes and three matte options, riding on forged wheels measuring 22 or 24 inches depending on the trim level selected.
