Georgia Football Injury Report: KJ Bolden Listed as Questionable for Florida Game

Georgia Releases First SEC Availability Report Featuring KJ Bolden

The Georgia Bulldogs released their first official Southeastern Conference availability report ahead of Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. matchup against Florida, listing safety KJ Bolden as questionable due to a lower leg injury. Bolden missed Georgia’s loss to Auburn.

Georgia enters the game in Atlanta with six players carrying injury designations on the Wednesday update. Alongside Bolden, running back Chauncey Bowens and wide receiver Isiah Canion were also marked as questionable. Meanwhile, safety Tyriq Green, wide receiver Thomas Blackshear, and outside linebacker Amaris Williams were ruled out.

Filling the Secondary Void

With Bolden sidelined against Auburn, Ja’Marley Riddle stepped into the starting lineup at strong safety. Riddle recorded six tackles and a pass deflection in his absence. Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart noted that Riddle continues to progress within the defensive system.

“Ja’Marley’s improving,” Smart said. “He plays more strong safety than anything else. He’s very intelligent. He has good instincts, and he communicates really well. He’s improved with every week.”

Bolden has accumulated 22 tackles, one interception, and two pass breakups this season. Inside linebacker Raylen Wilson emphasized the defensive back’s importance to the perimeter. “We need that toughness, week in and week out,” Wilson said. “Especially on the perimeter with our DBs. It starts with him mostly.”

Smart addressed Bolden’s status during a Wednesday appearance on Atlanta radio station 680 AM, noting that the defensive back is working toward a return. “He’s doing all he can to get back and be able to play,” Smart said. “I know he wants to really bad, but only time’s probably going to be able to tell on that.”

Roster Updates and Game Logistics

The availability report provides clarity on several other roster questions as both teams return from a bye week. Running back Nate Frazier was absent from the injury report entirely, signaling his availability.

On the offensive side, Canion has missed the last four games due to a lower extremity injury. Bowens has likewise missed the last two games after sustaining a lower body injury during the win against Vanderbilt. Among those listed as out, Williams continues working through a knee injury. Smart indicated that Williams participates in partial practice routines like stretching but is not in any shape to play right now.

Across the field, Florida listed quarterbacks Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones as questionable. Philo missed the team’s game against Texas due to a shoulder injury, while Jones started in the victory. Florida coach Jon Sumrall stated earlier in the week that he would not publicly name a starting quarterback before Saturday.

The SEC mandates daily availability reports on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, followed by a final update ninety minutes prior to kickoff. Saturday’s game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ABC.
