As the Texas Thespians State Festival opens, attendees arriving at the Hilliard Center will find logistical guidelines in place for accessible seating, parking, drop-off locations, and auxiliary services, the venue reported.
Venue Access and Accommodations at the Hilliard Center
For participants and guests requiring accessible seating, the Hilliard Center operates under a strict exchange policy. Tickets cannot be exchanged in advance. Instead, visitors must arrive at the Box Office and request relocation to ADA seating, which follows a standard allocation of one handicap seat plus one guest, subject to availability. Accessible seating options are located on every level of the facility.
Parking accommodations are similarly structured. All parking lots owned and operated by the venue are ADA-compliant and feature designated spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis. For those utilizing drop-off and pick-up services, the designated locations depend on the specific venue within the complex. Arena event attendees with disabilities may be dropped off at the corner of Shoreline Boulevard and Resaca Street to enter through the Main Entrance, while patrons attending events at the Selena Auditorium and Exhibit Hall utilize the turnaround at the end of Shoreline Boulevard.
The facility provides sign language interpretation for deaf or hard-of-hearing guests, though requests must be submitted three weeks prior to the event and approved by the performer. Inquiries regarding these services can be directed to the venue via email at [email protected] or by phone at 361-826-4100. The Hilliard Center also notes that it does not control event sound systems, as individual shows supply their own equipment and manage audio levels.
