Colts Trade Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner for Draft Picks

Ahmad Hardy Returns to Practice for No. 23 Missouri Following Spring Shooting

All-American running back Ahmad Hardy has returned to practice with No. 23 Missouri, months after he was wounded in a Mississippi shooting. Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz confirmed Tuesday that Hardy participated fully in practice the previous day.

Despite his return to the field, exactly when Hardy will take a snap for the Tigers remains unclear. In early May, Hardy suffered a leg wound as a bystander during a concert. In his absence, the Tigers ground game has leaned heavily on Jamal Roberts, who currently ranks seventh in the Football Bowl Subdivision with 867 rushing yards. Missouri enters this weekend following a bye week, preparing to face Arkansas on Saturday.

Indianapolis Colts Trade Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner

As Missouri works its personnel back into shape, the Indianapolis Colts are overhauling their roster amid a spiraling season. The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks acquired Quenton Nelson on Tuesday in exchange for a 2027 third-round draft pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick. Nelson arrived in Indianapolis as the No. 6 overall pick in the 2018 draft under then-general manager Chris Ballard.

Team co-owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon fired Ballard one week prior, prompting assistant general manager Ed Dodds to step into the role. The front office changes accelerated following a home loss to the previously winless Tennessee Titans in Week 6, dropping the Colts to 12 losses in 14 games dating back to last season. Hours after dealing Nelson, Indianapolis traded Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to San Francisco for a 2027 fourth-round pick. The Colts head into a Sunday matchup in Jacksonville (4-2) against a backdrop of sweeping roster adjustments.
