The potential inheritance includes a 33-carat diamond ring. The documents included thousands of intimate emails between Shuliak and Epstein alongside dozens of photographs of them together. Epstein once referred to her as his “favorite” and frequently told her he loved her. Throughout their association, she had free use of a credit card to purchase whatever she wanted, while Epstein funneled payments totaling nearly $1 million to her over the years, alongside tens of thousands of dollars sent to her parents in Belarus.

Immigration Assistance and Columbia University Studies

The released emails disclose detailed information regarding how Epstein assisted Shuliak with her education and legal status in the United States. A native of Belarus, Shuliak met Epstein when she was 21 years old after moving to New York from Belarus on a temporary student visa to study English at a school in Manhattan. She had lived in New York for only nine months when they met in late March 2011.

According to the investigative files, Epstein helped her gain admission into Columbia University’s dental school. Furthermore, he helped her obtain United States citizenship by asking one of his female victims to marry her, suggesting in an email that the fastest way to a green card was through a same-sex marriage. Congressional Democrats accused Epstein of exploiting the immigration system, calling out Shuliak’s marriage to an American woman—which eventually ended in divorce—as a potentially illusory arrangement. However, U.S. immigration authorities have not challenged the process through which Shuliak obtained her citizenship.

Managing Properties and Forging a Brooklyn Dental Career

Over the years, Shuliak earned enough of Epstein’s trust to help manage his properties and staff. She even played a critical role in his effort to purchase a Moroccan palace just weeks before his 2019 arrest. While Epstein controlled the relationship, she derived professional, personal, and financial benefits from it.

Despite her ties to Epstein’s high-net-worth circle, Shuliak attempted to build an ordinary professional life. She worked as a part-time dentist in an unremarkable office in Brooklyn, treating patients who sat in her chair unaware of her personal history. One patient who visited the office in December expecting a different practitioner was treated by a smiling, soft-spoken dentist wearing a Columbia University fleece jacket and holding her long hair back with a clip, introduced simply as “Dr. Karyna.”

Current Whereabouts and Unspoken Legal Status

Federal authorities have not considered Shuliak a co-conspirator in Epstein’s sex trafficking, and she has not identified herself as a victim. There is no indication in the records that the FBI ever interviewed her, and lawyers representing hundreds of his victims have never deposed her. As of this spring, Shuliak had been living in a Manhattan condo building in which Epstein’s brother, Mark, holds a financial stake.

Through her lawyer, Shuliak declined to comment on the release of the documents or her potential inheritance. In a brief interview, Mark Epstein stated I only wish that woman the best, according to Deccanherald. Meanwhile, a friend of Shuliak’s from Belarus who once shared an apartment with her in Brooklyn and requested anonymity to protect her privacy expressed a belief that Shuliak truly loved Jeffrey Epstein.
