Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Neb., welcomes families to holiday fun at its annual Letters to Santa event on Thursday, Dec. 3, from 4-6 p.m. Families can bring letters to the event and take pictures with the Big Red Guy during this festive visit. Kids bringing a letter for Santa should add their first and last name and a return address, ensuring Santa’s workshop can send a personal response.
The hospital will send all letters collected during the event and drop-off period to Santa’s workshop, ensuring that every child who writes receives a response. For families unable to attend the Dec. 3 event, letters may still be dropped off at The Gift Shop inside the hospital between Dec. 3-17, extending the opportunity to participate for two full weeks after the main gathering.
Gift Shop Drop-off Schedule for December
Families who cannot attend the Dec. 3 gathering may deliver letters to The Gift Shop inside the hospital between Dec. 3-17 during the following hours:
- Monday-Wednesday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Thursday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Saturday: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
The hospital will forward all letters collected during this window to Santa’s workshop so that no child misses out on a reply.
Community Care Through Holiday Tradition
“Letters to Santa is a fun way to connect with the community,” said Angie Ramaekers, director of volunteer and guest services at the hospital. “Columbus Community Hospital cares about families, and Letters to Santa is one way we show this.”
Columbus Community Hospital urges community members to participate in this heartwarming tradition and spread holiday cheer throughout the Columbus area, with the Dec. 3 event and subsequent drop-off period guaranteeing every participating child receives communication from Santa’s workshop.
