Meet Arizona Writers at Phoenix Local Author Fair

The Phoenix Public Library will host the annual Local Author Fair on Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Burton Barr Central Library, featuring more than 100 Arizona authors. The free event, held on the second floor, connects readers with local writers across fiction, nonfiction, poetry, memoir, and children’s literature, with books available for purchase and signing.

The fair is the culmination of the library’s Call for Local Authors, an initiative that showcases Arizona’s writing community. Authors selected for the event are added to the library’s Approved Partner & Presenter List, where they may be considered for future programs. Some submitted books may also be used as raffle prizes for the Phoenix Public Library Foundation’s annual fundraiser, Dinner in the Stacks, or sold and gifted through the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library.

Library Initiatives

The fair is part of the Phoenix Public Library’s efforts to highlight Arizona’s writing community. Through the Call for Local Authors, the library selects participants who gain the opportunity to showcase their work and meet readers. Selected authors are added to the library’s Approved Partner & Presenter List, which may lead to invitations for other library programs throughout the year. Some books submitted for the fair may also be used as raffle prizes for the Phoenix Public Library Foundation’s Dinner in the Stacks fundraiser or be sold and gifted through the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library.
