Top Rank Announces Lomachenko’s Multi-Fight Return

Vasiliy Lomachenko is officially out of retirement and back in the fold with Top Rank Boxing. The 38-year-old three-division world champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist has signed a multi-year co-promotional deal with the organization, in partnership with his own company, Loma Power Promotions.

Top Rank announced the return of the Ukrainian fighter on Thursday via social media. Lomachenko had been operating as a free agent since announcing his plans to return, but he ultimately re-signed with the promoter he has worked with throughout his professional career. His first fight is expected to be in early 2027.

Return Driven by Quest for Undisputed Status

Lomachenko’s return is driven by one primary goal: to become an undisputed world champion. After retiring in June 2025 following a victory over Kambosos Jr., the former champion has made it clear he wants to achieve the one accolade that has eluded him.

Vasiliy is one of the most gifted fighters I’ve ever promoted, and I’m delighted he’s returning to the ring. He’s accomplished so much, but he’s determined to become undisputed. There’s tremendous talent at super featherweight, and we’re looking forward to working with Loma Power Promotions to put on some terrific fights. — Bob Arum, Top Rank Chairman

God works in mysterious ways. I thought I would never step back into the ring again as a boxer. But our Lord Jesus Christ had other plans for me. I’m happy to be living this boxing life once again. I’m grateful to everyone who is once again part of this journey.

Manager and Partner Praise the Comeback

Lomachenko’s manager, Egis Klimas, praised the fighter’s decision to return, emphasizing his “unfinished business.”

I’m so happy Vasiliy has decided to return to the ring. He still has unfinished business and a dream that means so much to him: becoming the undisputed champion. I’ve never stopped believing in him, and I’m proud to stand beside him as he gives to that dream everything he has.

Lomachenko also paid special tribute to Klimas’s role in the comeback, saying, Special respect and gratitude to Egis, who, despite my firm belief that my boxing career was over, never stopped believing that we would step into the ring again.

Potential Opponents and Division Focus

The focus of Lomachenko’s return will be the super featherweight division, where he once held the WBO title. His name has been connected to a potential initial fight against Charly Suarez. WBC, WBO, and IBF super featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster has also expressed significant interest in making his next defense against Lomachenko.

Lomachenko’s professional record stands at 18-3, with his last victory coming against Kambosos Jr. Prior to turning pro, he was a dominant amateur boxer with a 396-1 record and gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.
