Nevada Day Parade Announces Accessibility Accommodations for 2026

Thousands of residents and visitors will line the streets of Carson City this weekend for the annual celebration of the state’s history, and organizers have rolled out new logistical measures to ensure the event accommodates participants with mobility needs.

Nevada Day, Inc. announced a comprehensive accessibility plan for the 2026 Nevada Day Parade, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The downtown procession, which marks Nevada’s 162nd statehood anniversary, features designated parking lots, reserved seating zones, and ADA-compliant restroom facilities positioned along the route.

Planning for large-scale civic events often requires managing downtown street closures and heavy pedestrian traffic, which can present significant hurdles for attendees with disabilities. To address these challenges, event organizers coordinated with local property owners and regional entities to secure specific infrastructure downtown.

FISH and Carson Mall Provide Accessible Parking

Accessible parking for the parade will be available at two primary locations near the downtown festivities. The first site is situated in a vacant lot on the northwest corner of Washington Street and Curry Street, specifically at 802 N. Curry Street. Nevada Day organizers extended gratitude to Friends in Service Helping, known locally as FISH, for allowing the organization to utilize the property for accessible vehicle placement.

A second accessible parking option is established at the Carson Mall, which is providing a limited number of spaces for parade attendees requiring closer access to the route. In addition to these designated accessible spaces, the Carson Mall will manage general paid parking for the event, charging $10 for regular vehicles and $50 for RV parking.

Accessible Seating Available Near Max Casino and Carson Street

Because downtown seating fills rapidly during the statehood celebration, organizers established two specific zones where limited accessible seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees requiring these accommodations can utilize the vehicle pullout area along Carson Street, situated in front of the parking lot between Robinson Street and Spear Street, as well as a designated seating area near Max Casino. Organizers encourage individuals relying on these spaces to arrive early.

To support attendees throughout the morning, ADA-accessible restrooms will be stationed at designated points along the parade route. Event planners advise visitors to consult the complete accessibility map prior to arrival. The map, detailing every designated parking area, seating zone, and restroom facility, is accessible through the Nevada Day mobile app and on the official Nevada Day website.
