Caltrans will close lanes, connectors and ramps overnight along State Route 91 from Cerritos to Gardena in Los Angeles County for a week beginning Monday, Nov. 9, as crews carry out curb, gutter and sidewalk work for a sign rehabilitation project. The overnight work runs Monday, Nov. 9 through Friday, Nov. 13, with no closures Tuesday, Nov. 10 or Wednesday, Nov. 11 because of the Veterans Day holiday.
Eastbound SR-91 will be reduced to two lanes overnight between Vermont Avenue in Gardena and the Orange County line at PM 20.7 in Cerritos, and westbound SR-91 will likewise be cut to two lanes between the same points. Striping operations will take place on eastbound SR-91 connectors, along with roadway excavation on the eastbound connectors to Interstate 710. Bridge demolition work to upgrade bridge railings will force the closure of the westbound off-ramp at Alameda Street/Santa Fe Avenue in Compton, while bridge demolition work will also close the westbound on- and off-ramps at Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach. Rolling overnight full closures at connectors and ramps may occur as the contractor moves between locations, and detour routes will be marked.
