U.S. Marshals apprehend teenage suspect in South Dakota
Federal law enforcement officers have taken a teenager into custody in South Dakota, marking a major breakthrough in a murder investigation that began in North Texas last month. According to FOX 4 News, members of the U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested the juvenile on November 2, following an intensive search for a suspect linked to the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old in Arlington.
The arrest follows a murder warrant issued by Arlington Police detectives. The investigation centers on a violent confrontation that occurred in the early morning hours of October 25 in the 3100 block of E. Park Row Drive. Authorities believe the suspect and the victim, Yoan Del Risco Falcon, were attending a party at an apartment complex when a verbal disagreement escalated into gunfire in the parking lot. Police say the suspect shot Del Risco Falcon multiple times before fleeing the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the victim’s final moments highlight a desperate attempt by friends to save his life. The Star-Telegram reported that after the shooting, Del Risco Falcon’s friends placed him in a vehicle and drove through the area looking for a hospital. They eventually stopped at a QuikTrip gas station in the 6600 block of Brentwood Stair Road in Fort Worth. Police arrived at the gas station at 3:04 a.m. and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Community anxiety grows near Park Row Drive
While the suspect is now in federal custody, the impact of the violence remains deeply felt by those living near the site of the shooting. For residents of the apartment complex where the argument began, the incident has transformed a familiar living space into a source of fear.
One neighbor, speaking to FOX 4 News, expressed a profound sense of instability regarding the safety of the neighborhood. The resident noted that the potential for sudden, unprovoked violence is particularly distressing because of the presence of young children in the area. The neighbor suggested that they are now reconsidering whether to continue living at the complex, fearing that a fight between others could result in an innocent child being caught in the crossfire.
Because the suspect is under the age of 17, Arlington Police have not released his name or a mugshot to the public. This legal restriction on identifying minors is standard in most jurisdictions, even when the charges are as severe as murder. The suspect currently awaits extradition to Tarrant County to formally face the murder charge in a Texas court.
The investigation remains centered on the sequence of events that led from a social gathering to a multi-city manhunt. While the physical location of the shooting was in Arlington, the pursuit of the suspect spanned hundreds of miles, ending only when federal authorities intercepted him in South Dakota.
