New Dining Options Arrive at Bradley International Airport
Travelers passing through Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks now have expanded options for their pre-flight meals. As reported by the Hartford Business Journal, two new restaurants have officially opened in the airport’s post-security food court: a Chick-fil-A and a location of Sergio’s Go, a Miami-based eatery specializing in Cuban-inspired cuisine.

These openings mark a significant milestone in the Connecticut Airport Authority’s (CAA) ongoing effort to modernize the terminal experience. The project follows a $250 million infrastructure overhaul completed last November, which aimed to boost the facility’s capacity and overall passenger environment. Michael W. Shea, the executive director and CEO of the CAA, emphasized that elevated dining options are “an important part of the travel experience.”
Operational Shifts and Future Expansion
The new arrivals operate in partnership with SSP America, the airport’s long-standing food and beverage operator. While both Chick-fil-A and Sergio’s Go are positioned to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to departing passengers, travelers should note that the Chick-fil-A location will maintain its traditional policy of closing on Sundays. This consistency with the brand’s standalone locations remains a point of interest for frequent flyers who rely on specific chains for their airport dining needs.
The culinary expansion is not stopping with these two additions. Officials confirmed that a third restaurant, Sparrow Pizza, is currently under construction in the concourse serving Gates 1–12. Based in West Hartford, the restaurant is expected to offer a full-service, sit-down dining experience when it opens its doors in early 2027. These developments arrive on the heels of another local success story: the opening of Urban Lodge, which launched in the terminal this past spring and maintains existing locations in Hartford and Manchester.

The strategy to integrate local brands like Urban Lodge and Sparrow Pizza alongside national chains reflects a broader trend in airport management. By balancing recognizable national brands with regional favorites, airports like Bradley aim to increase non-aeronautical revenue while providing a sense of place for travelers. According to the Hartford Business Journal, the current expansion efforts are part of a broader, multi-year terminal improvement plan designed to keep Bradley competitive with larger regional transit hubs.
While the infrastructure upgrades were completed last year, the tangible impact on the passenger experience—specifically the availability of diverse food and beverage options—is only now becoming fully realized. As construction continues on the concourse level, travelers can expect further shifts in the terminal’s layout and service offerings through 2027.
