Four Teenagers Shot in North Nashville Halloween Party, Community Grapples with Shock
In the early hours of Halloween night, a party in North Nashville turned lethal when four teenagers were shot near an abandoned building on Jefferson Street, according to WSMV. The incident, which occurred just before 12:30 a.m., left a 16‑year‑old girl in critical condition and three other teens hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
A Night of Horror and Humanity
The party, which drew “dozens if not hundreds of kids,” was held outside an abandoned structure about a block from Krave, a popular restaurant that had just closed for the night. Brittney Finn, co-owner of Krave, recounted how staff received a call from a cook and security officer reporting ‘gunshots and kids running everywhere.’ Darryl Heath, Krave’s security officer and a former Marine, rushed to the scene, where he found ‘tape and gunshot shells’ scattered across the street. ‘It was horrific,’ Heath said, describing the chaos.
Heath, who spent time working with Memphis police, helped coordinate with Metro Police to control traffic and reunite families. Some parents arrived to find their children already at the hospital. Heath said his own experience — his 21‑year‑old son was robbed and murdered years earlier — made the scene especially painful. “I was thinking as a parent and security,” he said.

Metro Police have not identified suspects in the shooting, though they believe at least some gunshots came from a vehicle. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 615‑712‑7463.
