Augusta Athletics and Wellstar Hospital Team Up to Score Big for the CSRA
This collaboration is designed to weave the worlds of collegiate sports and children’s health into a single, supportive fabric for the Central Savannah River Area.
The initiative is a commitment to connect young fans with their favorite teams while supporting children and families throughout the Central Savannah River Area. The announcement builds on a relationship between Augusta University and Wellstar that has already spanned many years, but this new venture adds structure and a specific focus on the region’s youngest residents.
Building the Game Day Experience, One Child at a Time
At the heart of the partnership are components aimed at enhancing the fan experience for families. This club will provide a way for young fans to engage with Augusta Athletics.
Wellstar Golisano Children’s Hospital of Georgia will establish the Wellstar Golisano Children’s Hospital of Georgia Kids’ Zone at Augusta University athletic events. This dedicated space at Augusta University athletic events will offer children activities to enjoy before and during games, adding to the game-day experience for families.
Children thrive when they are surrounded by a community that supports and inspires them. Through this partnership with Augusta University Athletics, we can create special experiences that bring joy to our patients and families while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles. We are excited to work alongside Augusta Athletics to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children throughout our region.

From the Stadium to the Hospital Room
The partnership extends beyond the stadium walls, creating a bridge between Augusta’s student-athletes and the young patients at the children’s hospital. The initiative will include hospital visits by Augusta student-athletes, offering children a chance to meet the student-athletes they cheer for.
Complimentary tickets for patients and their families to attend Jaguar home competitions will also be provided.
The commitment to giving back is further solidified through the sponsorship of Youth Day, which will feature a youth jersey giveaway for the first 500 children ages 12 and younger. Augusta’s annual Teddy Bear Toss will also be supported, with the donated stuffed animals benefiting the Wellstar Golisano Children’s Hospital of Georgia and other local charity organizations.
A Broader Impact on Health and Education
This collaboration recognizes that a university’s role extends far beyond athletics.
This educational component ensures the partnership has an impact, promoting health and wellness information. By using the university's platform, the initiative aims to reach a wide audience with information about pediatric health and wellness.
