Boise Cascade Intends to Acquire Taiga Building Products Facilities in Rocklin and Sanger
“This acquisition is a great fit for our business and an exciting next step in our growth strategy,” said Jo Barney, executive vice president of Boise Cascade’s building materials distribution division, regarding a newly announced transaction in the building sector. Boise Cascade Company intends to acquire two building materials distribution facilities from Taiga Building Products located in Rocklin and Sanger, California.
The transaction is expected to close by mid-November 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Taiga’s other locations and products are not included in the deal and will remain owned and operated by Taiga. The planned purchase will extend Boise Cascade’s distribution footprint, adding to the 39 distribution locations the company currently operates across the United States.
Expanding Distribution Reach Across Northern and Central California
The addition of the Rocklin and Sanger sites is designed to strengthen the company’s distribution capacity throughout Northern and Central California, the California Coast, and Northern Nevada. Company leadership framed the two new locations as a direct complement to its existing operational network in the state.
Beyond regional footprint growth, the acquisition supports broader product strategies. Boise Cascade stated that the facilities will improve its general line product capabilities and support the continued growth of its recently expanded partnership with James Hardie.

Corporate Leadership Perspectives on The California Expansion
Jo Barney pointed to the strategic alignment with existing California assets and noted that the company looks forward to welcoming the incoming workforce.
“Boise Cascade has a strong reputation in building materials distribution, and we look forward to seeing these locations and teams begin their next chapter at Boise Cascade,” said Russell Permann, president and chief executive officer of Taiga.
Permann also noted that Taiga remains proud of the businesses and relationships the teams have built in Rocklin and Sanger. While the acquisition plan outlines clear organizational transitions, specific financial terms, purchase prices, and workforce headcounts for the two facilities were not disclosed in the public announcements.
