Experience Wealth opens in Wausau to serve Central Wisconsin

Steven Schreiner opened Experience Wealth in Wausau this April, targeting the wealth transfer and retirement planning needs of central Wisconsin’s manufacturing, agricultural, and closely held business communities. The firm is an independent practice affiliated with Cetera, a national broker-dealer.

A Client-Centered Approach

As a financial advisor holding the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designations, Schreiner founded the four-person Experience Wealth team to offer a more personal, relationship-driven service. His practice is based on an independent model, giving him flexibility in structuring client experiences, choosing technology, and organizing financial lives.

“What a client sitting across from me would probably notice most is that the experience feels very personal,” Schreiner said. “We can spend more time talking about what is actually important to them, make the planning process easier to understand and build the relationship around their family, goals and long-term priorities rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.”

Addressing Central Wisconsin’s Unique Needs

The firm primarily serves Wausau, Merrill, and Central Wisconsin, though it works with clients across the US. Schreiner noted that the region’s economy, with its strong manufacturing base, large agricultural community, and numerous closely held family businesses, presents unique financial planning challenges. His work often focuses on retirement pensions, succession planning for family businesses and farms, preparing owners for a future sale, and managing the associated taxes.

“Sometimes the challenge is helping them move from simply accumulating assets to thinking more strategically about retirement income, taxes, estate planning and what they want their wealth to accomplish for the next generation,” Schreiner said. US. Many

A Career Path to Financial Advising

Before founding Experience Wealth, Schreiner worked as a financial advisor for an established wealth management company. His career in finance began after he owned and operated a health and fitness business, where he gained experience in helping people set and achieve individual goals. Schreiner sees a parallel between fitness and financial planning, as both require understanding a client’s entire picture to build a successful plan.
