Frankfort Regional Medical Center and Fire Department Host Safety Night

Frankfort Regional Medical Center Partners With First Responders for Community Halloween Safety Night

Frankfort Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, teamed up with Frankfort Fire and EMS on October 29, 2026, to host an annual Halloween Safety Night that drew approximately 2,400 attendees to the hospital’s side parking lot, according to coverage from Frankfort Regional Medical Center and NewsBreak.

The free community event combined traditional holiday trick-or-treating with practical public safety education. Families attending the evening gathered in the hospital’s side parking lot to collect candy, explore fire trucks and helicopters, and navigate spooky-themed safety booths. Attendees also enjoyed games and activities while dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes.

Connecting Emergency Services With Local Families

Beyond the popcorn and costumes, local first responders utilized the gathering to teach children and parents vital safety habits through hands-on activities and live demonstrations. Healthcare workers and community partners also participated in the evening.

“October may be fire prevention month, but public safety is important every day of the year,” said Matthew Marshall, Frankfort Fire and EMS fire marshal. “When I became fire marshal, I wanted to bring the joy and excitement of Halloween together with the importance of public safety education, and that is what safety night is all about.”

The event highlighted the ongoing relationship between local medical staff and emergency crews. Hospital leadership emphasized the value of bringing the community together outside of a clinical setting to connect families with information and resources supporting health and safety.

“We were excited for the opportunity to collaborate with Frankfort Fire and EMS for this event,” said John Cain, chief operating officer of Frankfort Regional. “It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with families in our community and share important safety information in a fun and engaging way.”

While October traditionally marks national fire prevention awareness, local organizers stressed that public outreach remains a year-round priority. Marshall expressed gratitude for the continued alliance between municipal emergency services and regional healthcare providers, noting their shared mission to protect local residents. Cain added that events like this serve as a great reminder of achievements possible when a community unites with a shared commitment to keeping families safe and healthy.
