Emergency services responded to Blackwood Parade following reports a man had been hit by a car on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Investigators stated that a 68-year-old man was struck by his own vehicle—a black Honda CRV—as he tried to prevent a woman from driving away with it. Emergency services transported the injured man to the hospital.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital confirmed that the victim remains in a critical condition. Police subsequently located the stolen Honda CRV on nearby Tobruk Avenue and seized the vehicle for forensic testing.

Dramatic Search Warrant Execution on Narvick Crescent

According to police statements, no officers were injured during the encounter.

Following the collision with the wall and the unmarked police vehicle, the stolen ute subsequently crashed into a tree where occupants were detained by authorities.

Arrests Made at the Property

Detectives arrested three individuals during the Narvick Crescent operation. A 51-year-old Heidelberg West woman was taken into custody without incident at the property. Simultaneously, the occupants of the crashed ute—a 42-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl, both from Heidelberg West—were arrested at the scene of the tree crash.
