Early Roots and Moving to Tallahassee
Born in Rosedale, New York, to the late Herbert Score and Anna May Kelley Score, Helen moved with her family to Lake Worth, Florida, as a young girl, developing a lifelong fondness for South Florida weather and activities. High school brought her first meeting with Carroll Webb, though their courtship formally began after Carroll returned home during a break from college. The couple married in 1958 and welcomed their son, Chip. While Carroll attended law school in St. Petersburg, Florida, their first daughter, Kelley Ann, was born. In 1961, the family relocated to Tallahassee, where daughters Susan and Shannon joined the household.

Professionally, Helen balanced a sharp intellect with a strong work ethic. Her civic footprint was significant; she was active in the Garden Club, Junior Woman’s Club, Capital Women’s Network, Zonta, Springtime Tallahassee, and numerous school and church activities. She was born on February 18, 1936, a date contextualizing a lifetime of civic engagement across the capital region.
