A Life Lived Out Loud in West Terre Haute
Peggy Sue Allen carried a room before she ever walked into it. Born Peggy Sue House in Terre Haute, Indiana, on August 15, 1969, to Donald and Joan “Jodi” House, she grew up with a fiery spirit that defined her 57 years. She passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, leaving behind a community shaped by her unyielding independence.
She attended West Vigo High School before continuing her education at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. To those who knew her, Peggy was unapologetically herself. She loved a good debate, possessed a legendary stubborn streak, and approached every facet of existence with a fierce, unmistakable passion.
Adventures on the Open Road and Memories in the Barn
Life with Peggy was never dull. Whether she was traveling, camping, crafting, reading, or enjoying a quiet shopping trip, she chased the simple joys. Her favorite adventures often involved spontaneous road trips with her husband, Mike Allen, setting off with no particular destination just to see where the highway led.
Her deepest pride, however, lived closer to home. She shared a special bond with her grandsons, Asher and Liam Lewzader, teaching them how to ride horses in the barn or taking them on wild rides in sport mode. She leaves behind her husband, Mike; her son, Travis Lewzader, and his wife, Bryana; her grandsons, Asher and Liam; her sisters, Annette Baker (husband Jeff) and Lisa Bedwell (husband Todd); and a wide circle of nephews, extended family, and friends.

Celebrating a Fiery Spirit
Family and friends will gather to honor that legacy on Saturday, November 7, 2026. A celebration of life is scheduled from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at The Farm, located at 11003 N. Shirley St. in West Terre Haute, Indiana.
Though her voice has gone quiet, her stories and laughter will echo in the hearts of those who knew her well.
