The NFL trade deadline is approaching, and the rumors are swirling as teams evaluate their rosters ahead of the final stretch of the season.
With several contenders looking to address critical gaps, the league could see a busier-than-usual period of movement. KCCR Radio reported that FOX NFL Sunday, currently on location in Annapolis to visit with Navy cadets ahead of Veterans Day, provided a comprehensive breakdown of team intentions directly from NFL insider Jay Glazer.
While speculation often surrounds high-profile players, the Baltimore Ravens have effectively shut down any talk regarding their star running back. According to Glazer, Derrick Henry is staying in Baltimore.
The team’s commitment is bolstered by the recovery timeline of their quarterback; Glazer noted that Lamar Jackson has informed teammates he expects to return to the field at some point later this year, signaling that the Ravens are focused on a full-strength playoff push rather than selling assets.

Jacksonville is also looking to improve its defensive front. Following the news that defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a torn quad, the Jaguars have entered the market for a replacement. “The Jaguars … they are looking for a defensive tackle,” Glazer said. “They’re trying to get richer before the trade deadline.”
The Steelers are still looking for a receiver. The 49ers, last week I told you that they tried to trade for a receiver; they’re in it. And the Chiefs are in it for a receiver too.
This assessment from Glazer highlights a competitive market for pass-catchers, as top-tier teams look to ensure their offenses remain dynamic for the postseason. The urgency is palpable, particularly for teams like the 49ers and Chiefs, who have established themselves as perennial contenders but face specific personnel challenges this autumn.
Not every team is expected to make major changes. The Dallas Cowboys, typically known for being active at the trade deadline, appear to be shifting their strategy this year.
Despite defensive concerns following the move of rookie Malachi Lawrence to injured reserve, Glazer reported that owner Jerry Jones does not have plans for a major acquisition. “Cowboys, man, they’re always in at the trade deadline, but I’m told nothing’s imminent there,” Glazer stated. “Not like a normal splash for the Cowboys.”
As Tuesday’s deadline nears, the league awaits the final maneuvers from these front offices. Whether teams choose to push for immediate depth or maintain their current rosters, the decisions made over the next few days will define the competition for the remainder of the 2026 season.
