Joe Scarborough Claims Pat McAfee Ruined College GameDay

by

Dan Dakich, the OutKick commentator, unloaded on MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough after the “Morning Joe” host claimed Pat McAfee “ruined College GameDay,” telling the MS NOW host that he and his fellow panelists “look like idiots,” Fox News reported.

Scarborough, a former Republican congressman from Florida, took aim at ESPN’s Pat McAfee during Tuesday’s “Morning Joe” broadcast, arguing that the backlash against McAfee’s on-air antics amounted to a rejection of the “manosphere” cultivated since 2024. McAfee, the former All-Pro punter for the Indianapolis Colts, has become a fixture across ESPN’s platforms, most prominently on “College GameDay.”

“They Look Like Idiots”

Dakich fired back hard. “Four dudes that know absolutely nothing about football are trying to chime in on social events that football people are talking about,” Dakich said of Scarborough and his fellow deskmates. “They look like idiots.”

The Walz Parallel

Dakich also compared Scarborough’s foray into football commentary to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s 2024 campaign appearances, when the Democratic vice-presidential nominee dressed the part of a football fan during Kamala Harris’ presidential run. “This is just like little Timmy Walz trying to be a ‘real boy,'” Dakich joked.

Disputing the Sign Claim

Dakich further disputed Scarborough’s claim that McAfee was “offended” by children holding up signs at a recent “GameDay” stop. “Nobody held a sign up,” Dakich countered, noting that the University of Utah issued an official post on its official X account about kids approaching McAfee at the show.

Pat McAfee INFURIATES “Morning Joe” Scarborough Over ESPN’s College GameDay DOMINANCE

A Polarizing Ratings Draw

The clash lands as McAfee remains one of the most polarizing figures in sports television, with his “GameDay” presence drawing both huge ratings and a vocal online backlash that Scarborough characterized as a cultural rebuke.
